A Girl Whose Cheeks are Hit in the Rain Review

A Girl Whose Cheeks are Hit in the Rain is a game that has us play as a nameless character who upon looking out the window and into a heavy rain sees a girl. This girl is utterly in love with our character and is willing to brave the storm to get him to accept her. So being the gentleman we are are, we go outside despite the weather and stand there making eye contact with the soaked girl. Before we know it, her face becomes deeply acquainted with our backhand.

Yeah, this is an oddly morbid title, made even worse with how fitting the sound design is. There is nothing but the pitter-patter of the rain until you decide to click on her face and you are greeted with a mighty crack upon impact. It’s a heavy moment that would be memorable in any show or visual novel, but this is not that. You smacking her chiclets around is the entire point of the game. It is for a specific type of fetish, mostly those into humiliation.

So what’s there to do after you commit a misdemeanor and hit her? Well, you slap her again. As many times as you want, in fact. No matter how much abuse, she will refuse to leave, despite the tears in her eyes. There is no winning in this. You have a counter that indicates how many times you struck her and even if you leave back into your room, she’ll be out there hopelessly gazing at you.

It is interesting how a game with no dialogue, music, or set up to this event can make you legitimately feel like a terrible human being. This being a fetish game, you can also fondle her breasts through her soaked shirt. It is not a hentai title nor is there nudity, however. Just the simple act itself to get you worked up. The gameplay consists entirely of clicking either her face or breasts. If you long-press, your slap will be much harder. Such a strike is how you’ll get her into tears, while weaker slaps have her just watch you sadly.

I’ve played a ton of video games in my time and none have ever made me feel like such a villain. You’ll find that there is nothing to work up to, no new costume, or any sort of content you won’t see in the first ten seconds. The gameplay is about as interactive as dragging a spreadsheet across your desktop screen. Some form of flicked motion with your mouse cursor would have offered more than simply clicking. In its current state, you merely go outside, click, and think “Huh, well that sucked for her.”. At three US Dollars this may be worth it to some, but keep in mind that this is more of an experience than an actual game. She is well-drawn, the animation is surprisingly good such as her tiny shudders after a heavy blow, and the minimal soundscape adds a ton. It isn’t a terrible purchase, but it lacks any staying power or engagement.
